What is the Model 700 Composite?

Overview

Introduced in 1999, the Model 700™ VS Composite builds on the design features of our standard Model 700™ Varmint Synthetic with our truly revolutionary new composite barrel. This encases a lightweight stainless-steel liner inside an outer composite material of epoxy-hardened graphite fiber. The result is a combination of strength and rigidity that could be matched only by an all-steel barrel weighing many times more. But the real advantage comes from super-enhanced heat dissipation that virtually eliminates barrel walk from heat build-up.
