My 12-gauge Model 870 has an ejection spring inside of the receiver, but my 20-gauge lightweight doesn't. Should there be one?

Overview

Only the 12-gauge, 16-gauge & pre-1977 20-gauge Model 870 shotguns have ejector springs.

The lightweights, regardless of gauge, do not utilize a spring. The lightweight receivers are narrower than the 12-gauge style models thus eliminating the need for the ejector spring. The ejector itself is all that is needed.  If you need to order an ejector, you can do so through our online store at www.shopremingtoncountry.com
